get-well-soon

bruce-2

This is Bruce our pet Bearded Dragon. About two weeks ago she started dragging her back legs so I took her to the local reptile zoo Regal Reptiles. If you have any questions you can call them or stop by. They were nice and helpful. They told me that Bruce was suffering from MBD or Metabolic Bone Disease. She was not receiving enough calcium so the body started extracting it from the bones. Sounds kind of terrible, but there is good news. The process can be reversed if she starts receiving the calcium that she needs. I just wanted to put this photo up of her when she would hang out on the couch and try to jump off and explore. Hope that her lively spirit comes back soon. Her body needs time to heal so we won’t know if we are out of the clear for a couple of months. If anyone has any happy stories about MBD please feel free to share them. Thanks

I think I’m happier with the pink to orange gradient rather than the white. It feels more summery and psychedelic which is what I was going for, playing of the “Palooza” title. What do you think I’d love to hear comments anything but more spam. I hate that.

2nd Largest Aquarium Tank In The World

Friday, July 31st, 2009

This video made my day today, that and I was able to get my car inspected. It’s the little things …anyway this video is amazing!. I suggest you watch it full screen.

It was Shot at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan. The main tank called the “Kuroshio Sea” holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world’s second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

Artist’s statement “THERE IS SUCH INCREDIBLE LIFE IN OUR OCEANS… WE MUST PROTECT THEM!”

Bruce Lee Roy is a bearded dragon that my boyfriend and I acquired. When we brought him into our home and put his tank down in the living room I immediately wanted to create a really cool background for the outside of it. I wanted something that I wouldn’t get tired of too easily. A year ago My boyfriend and I went hiking in the Grand Canyon and I took a lot of panoramic shots. So a year later I just played with them in photoshop and made this fun unrealistic background. At the time I had access to a large color printer so I printed it out and now it’s a part of Bruce’s home. It was a fun project and Bruce seems to enjoy it.

Meet James & Jake

James 1

Meet James! James has been at the shelter for over a year and needs a good home. He is such a sweet guy but he doesn’t give a good first impression. He likes to talk, and people think that he is warning them to stay away but what he is trying to say is take me home with you. He deserves a good home and lots of love. He is  an independent cat and does not like to be  picked up but loves being pet. James can go to any home really.  Living in a cage for over a year is not fun for anyone and he just needs a loving home.

Meet Jake! Jake has been at the shelter for less than a year. He was hit by a car and had a fractured pelvis but you would never know it with how active he is. He loves to play with just about anything, but pens are his favorite. He plays hard and doesn’t give in to his handicap a true optimist at heart. Jake can be very affectionate, but he also has sever mood swings. It is possible that he may have suffered neurological damage from being hit and explains the mood swings. He is a special needs cat and therefore needs extra loving care and lots of patience. He is best suited in a home  without young children.

If you are interested in adopting James or Jake please visit the Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter at www.faaspets.org, e-mail the shelter at attleboropets@hotmail.com, or leave a comment  and I will past it along.

Thunder_pup

This is a picture of Thunder at the Rhode Island Pet show wearing his new collar that was donated by The Classic Pup. I volunteered to help the Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter at the Petfinder booth. Thunder, a sweet pup came along to represent the animals at the shelter. He was the main attraction at the booth and everyone loved him. The owners at the booth next to ours, The Classic Pup were also taken by Thunder and donated a dog collar to him. Thunder was adopted a week or so after the show into a good loving home. Congratulations Thunder!
